Jerry Ronald Brandt, 76, of De Soto died Dec. 22, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Brandt was a retired customer service technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Festus and the Blackwell Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Cuban missile crisis. Born Dec. 4, 1941, in McDougal, Ark., he was the son of the late Lois (Brawner) and Homer Brandt.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara (Kennedy) Brandt; a son: Donald (Sherry) Golterman of Hillsboro; a daughter: Mendi (David) Walton of Cedar Hill; three sisters: Wilma (the late Sam) Badgley of O’Fallon, Kathy (the late Dick) Thomas of Minnesota and Debbie Kirkman of Poplar Bluff; a brother: Bill (Sharon) Brandt of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren: Shannon Turner, Kiel Turner, Jacqueline Golterman and Kylie Walton; and a great-grandson: Braydon Turner.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Pony Bird Home in Mapaville. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
