Jerry Lee Stuart Sr., 81, of Festus died Nov. 17, 2021, in Festus. Mr. Stuart was a retired insurance agent and a member of the Circle H Saddle Club, the Festus Conservation Club, the NRA and the Arnold Rifle and Pistol Club, where he competed in cowboy shoots. He built Triple SSS Ranch, where he raised, trained and boarded horses for more than 40 years. He won multiple trophies with his stallion, Sleepytime Fiddler. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and entertaining his grandchildren. He was of the Christian faith. Born July 31, 1940, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Grace (Skaggs) and Oman Stuart.
He is survived by his wife: Ann (Linton) Stuart; seven children: Terri Jo Stuart-Weiss of De Soto, Angie (Gary Jr.) Graves of Festus, Jerry (Nathan) Stuart Jr. of Palm Springs, Calif., Denise Stuart of Springfield, John (Aimee) Stuart of St. Louis, Natalie (Grant) Bowen of Festus and Crystal Stuart-Brooks of De Soto; 11 grandchildren: Joshua Hulsey, Lindsay Weiss, Klye (Melissa) Weiss, Jordan (Nicole) Fullen, Austin West, Autumn West, Grace Stuart, Collin (Alexis) Beffa, Parker Bowen, Lilly Stuart and Jesse Brooks; five great-grandchildren: Landen and Greyson McManus, Skyler Fullen and Jayden and Tatum Beffa; and his first wife: Mary (Roux) Stuart of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Lloyd (Alice) Stuart, Bobby (Shirley) Stuart and Denny Stuart Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, at Flucom United Methodist Church, 2815 E, Flucom Road, in De Soto, officiated by Colleen Luntzer.
