Jerry L. Powell, 84, of Morse Mill died Dec. 21, 2021, in Morse Mill. Mr. Powell enjoyed motorcycle trips, animals, boat races, fixing thing and telling stories. Born July 2, 1937, in Ironton, he was the son of the late Marjorie (Parker) and William Powell.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Jo Ann (Hampton) Powell; a daughter: JoLynn (Ken) Theiling; a granddaughter: Katelynn Ann Theiling; two brothers: Gary Powell and Myron Powell; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: William “Billy” Powell, Ray Powell and Eddie Powell.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, Cedar Hill. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the BackStoppers, 10411 Clayton Road, Room 203, St. Louis 63131 or to Open Door Animal Sanctuary, 6065 Duda Road, House Springs 63051. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
