Jason Paul Gill, 39, De Soto

Jason Paul Gill, 39, of De Soto died July 9, 2020, in De Soto. Mr. Gill was an over-the-road truck driver and an excellent mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and fishing, catching everything from minnows to use as bait, to salmon in the Shetucket river, big striped bass on Long Island Sound and catfish in the Mississippi River. He was born Nov. 5, 1980, in New London, Conn., the son of the late Fay Crystal Lewis. As a young man, he was adopted by Lewis A. Gill and took his name after his mother died.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his fiancee: Tanya Brewer of De Soto; a son: Trenton Gill of Potosi; Tanya’s daughters: Samantha and Jessica; a brother: Brian Lewis of Uncasville, Conn.; two nephews: Dustin and Austin; a maternal grandmother: Fay Ethel Lewis; an uncle: Bob Powers of De Soto; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather: Harry M. Lewis Sr.; two aunts: Sherry Lewis and Dorothy Powers; two uncles: Mark Lewis and Clayton Lewis; and a stepdaughter: Natalee Rawe.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday (July 18) at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Randy Gray. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
