Jannie Dean Walters, 64, of Pevely died April 6, 2015, at St. Louis University Medical Center in St. Louis. Mrs. Walters was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and formerly the collector for the city of Pevely. Born Oct. 1, 1950, in Harvell, she was the daughter of the late Gracie (Lewis) and Gearld Johnson.
She is survived by her husband: Edward Walters; three sisters: Glinda (Ples) Hedrick of Salem, Bonnie (Joe) Wagner of Overland and Edie (Doug) Stoughton of High Ridge; three brothers: Delmar (Rita) Johnson of Belle, Lynn (Kim) Johnson of Pontoon Beach, Ill., and Johnny (Theresa) Johnson of Belle; an aunt: Doris (Jerry) Seidelman of Florida; a sister-in-law: Anna (Joe) Goodman of Pevely; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Dawn Richardson; and a niece: Stacie Stoughton.
A memorial gathering is scheduled for 9 a.m. and a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, officiated by the Rev. Christopher Popravok and the Rev. Clark Maes. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
