Janice Elaine Phelps, 72, of Crystal City died May 8, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Phelps was an administrative assistant at the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center. She enjoyed bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. Born Sept. 17, 1945, in Parma, she was the daughter of the late Novella (Allen) and Charles “Red” Harrison. She was preceded in death by her husband: Curtis Matthew Phelps.
She is survived by a son: Scott (Erin) Phelps of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter: Tracey Kolano of Crystal City; four sisters: Barbara (David) Bradford of Tennessee, Linda (Allen) Brand of St. Louis, Wanda Taylor of New Mexico and Cathy Newton of New Mexico; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Margie Harrison.
Visitation is scheduled at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by Ray Chilton and with a eulogy by Tracey Kolano. Burial is in Ellington Memorial Gardens in Ellington. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
