Janet Lee Pollard, 66, of Pevely died July 15, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Pollard had worked as a groundskeeper for the Michelson Organization and a cook for Scenic Nursing Center in Herculaneum. Born Oct. 6, 1953, in East St. Louis, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Joyce Lee (Warner) and Elmer Everett “Buck” Massa.
She was preceded in death by her husband: William Alfred “Bill” Pollard.
She is survived by six daughters: Angela Laiben of Festus, Melanie (Jamie) Winslow of Imperial, Cynthia (Jason) Dieckhaus of Herculaneum, Laurie Pavlige of Washington, Wendy (Joe) Baker of Brownsburg, Ind., and Christy (Jim) Boland of Moscow Mills; four brothers: Elmer “Joe” (Caren) Massa of Crystal City, Tony (Lisa) Massa of Cadet, Mark Alan Massa of Cadet and Angelo (Sheryl) Massa of Keizer, Ore.; a sister: Lori Ann Williams of Festus; 13 grandchildren: Bishop Epps, Ksiah Wansley, Zachary, Matthew, Vivian, Isabel, Ethan, Hunter, Cierrah, Breanna, Jason Jr., Ava and Cash; her dog: Champ; her great-grandpup: Caine; and three cats: Taz, Ricky and Bobby.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Jacob Laiben; two sisters: Caren (James) Davis and Alma “Becky” Massa; and a cat: Elmer.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday (July 19) at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday (July 20) at the funeral home, officiated by the reverends Steve Doss and Kenneth Massa. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home.
