Janet Elizabeth Blanke, 88, Festus

Janet Elizabeth Blanke, 88, of Festus died Feb. 22, 2023, at her home. Mrs. Blanke worked as a registered nurse. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in De Soto. She enjoyed reading and most of all, spending time with family. Born Sept. 4, 1934, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Herbert E. and Katherine C. (Kienzle) Ayers.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ray Blanke.

She is survived by two sons: Mike (Mary Ann) Blanke of Festus and Mark (Betty) Blanke of Festus; a brother: Andrew (Paula) Ayers of St. Louis; a sister: Kathleen (William) McCune of Festus; a sister-in-law: Judi Ayers of St. Louis; four grandchildren: Heather (Chad), Lynda (Sam), Kimberly (Matt) and Michael; five great-grandchildren: Memphis, Samuel, William, Lanora and Emberly; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Herbert (June) Ayers and Lawrence Ayers.

Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in Festus.
