Hancock, James

James Rodney Hancock, 85, of Imperial died Nov. 26, 2020, at Festus Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Hancock an assembly line worker at Chrysler until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. Born June 22, 1935, in Dawson Springs, Ky., he was the son of the late Kirah and Edna (Egbert) Hancock.

He is survived by two children: Drenda (Pat) Eaves of Festus and Troy Hancock of Bloomsdale; a grandson: James Troy "J.T." Hancock Jr.; a stepson: Amon (Danna) Hancock of Union; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and his special canine companion, Phoebe.

He was preceded in death by seven siblings: Herman (the late Cornelia) Hancock, Mary (the late Carmie) Winstead, Louise (the late Curtis) Courington, Mabel (the late Bud) Hendrix, Cora (the late Joe) Cartwright), Ruby Hancock and Junior Hancock.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary, 6065 Duda Road, House Springs, 63051. Online condolences may be offered at cozeanfuneralhome.com. Arrangements were under the direction of Cozean Funeral Home in Farmington.
