James Robert “Jim” Breeden, 90, of High Ridge died Aug. 16, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield. Mr. Breeden worked in a variety of jobs. Since his retirement some years ago, he enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions, where he made many friends and was admired for his quick wit. He was a Baptist, a Mason and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.  Born April 21, 1926, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Robert and Ola (Bolton) Breeden.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years: Mildred (Lewis) Breeden; four children: Daryl (Barri) Breeden of Moorpark, Calif., Bob (Barbara) Breeden of Hillsboro, Chuck (Tammy) Breeden of LaGrange, Ga., and Barb (Kevin) Keen of Cedar Hill; three siblings: Imogene Turnbough of Fenton, Ora Genther of Imperial and Janie (Rocky) Thomure of Ste. Geneveive; two grandchildren: Danielle (Robert) Webber of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., and Micah (Shawna) Breeden of Eagle Mountain, Utah; and six great-grandchildren: Madison and Weston Webber of Trabuco Canyon and Riggs, Piper, Francois and Mace Breeden of Eagle Mountain.

He was preceded in death by six siblings: Christine Breeden, Johnsy Breeden, Pearl Warren, Charles Breeden, Vora Black and Wayne Breeden.

Mr. Breeden chose to donate his body to Washington University School of Medicine. Visitation is scheduled for 3 p.m. and a celebration of life for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, at First Baptist Church of Fenton, 650 Oakwood Drive, in Fenton, officiated by Dr. John Greever.
