Prince, James

James R. “Jim” Prince, 79, of Hillsboro died Jan. 2, 2014, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Prince was an engineer for KMOV TV (Channel 4) in St. Louis and a member of IBEW Local 4. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Born Feb. 15, 1934, in McKenzie, Tenn., he was the son of the late Carmel “Peck” Prince and Hattie Mae (Dinkins) Prince Carroll.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wanda Lucille “Penny” (Hudson) Prince of Hillsboro; three children: Valerie (Doug) McKechan of St. Louis County, Robert “Bobby” (Chrissy) Prince of Hillsboro and Julia Anderson of Hillsboro; and seven grandchildren: Jake, Jordan, Jack and Leah Prince; Darren and Hunter Anderson; and Brayden Campbell.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the funeral home, officiated by Jimmie Turner. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Hillsboro Food Pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
