James L. King, 81, of south St. Louis County died Feb. 1, 2018, in Festus. Mr. King was retired. He was a member of the Herculaneum United Methodist Church and was involved with Habitat for Humanity. Born Aug. 25, 1936, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Margaret (Organ) and Albert S. King.

He is survived by two sons: Steven (Debbie) King of Valley Park and Jeff (Kathy) King of Imperial; three daughters: Cathy Stanley of Barnhart, Cindy (Joe) Caldwell of Imperial and Julie (Roy) Schwarz of Union; 12 grandchildren: Jake, Abby, Greg, Lauren, Kevin, Brian, Brianna, Kaylin, Cierra, Skylar, Kylie and Justine; three great-grandchildren: Ally, Sammy and Remi; two brothers: John and Ray King; two sisters: Mary Rachelski and Jean Turner; and numerous family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son: Jimmy King; and a brother: Bob King.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, south St. Louis County, immediately followed by a memorial service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
