James “Jim” Edwin Kennedy Sr., 69, of De Soto died July 5, 2020, at his home. Mr. Kennedy was a retired repairman for Chrysler and a member of UAW Local 110. He also was a member of First Baptist Church in De Soto. Born April 30, 1951, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Ive Georgette (Ogletree) and Thomas Kennedy Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Donna (Hoover) Kennedy of De Soto, whom he married Sept. 22, 1973, in Bloomsdale; a son: James Edwin (Amy) Kennedy Jr. of Hillsboro; a daughter: Chrissa Nicole (Troy LaMar) Kennedy of De Soto; two grandchildren: Isabella Marie Kennedy of Hillsboro and Connor James Kennedy of De Soto; four sisters: Georgia Paterno of Colorado, Virginia “Ginny” Ocello of St. Louis, Debbie Becker of Festus and Ann Hoffman of Festus; and two brothers: Thomas L. Kennedy Jr. and David L. Kennedy, both of Hillsboro.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
