Eisenbeis, James

James Herbert "Jim" Eisenbeis, 83, of Festus died Dec. 27, 2020, at the de Greeff Hospice House in south St. Louis County. Mr. Eisenbeis was a lineman and troubleman for Union Electric for 29 years until retiring in 1995. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, Knights of Columbus Council 1230 and Elks Lodge 1721. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed his back porch swing and visiting with family and friends. Born Dec. 12, 1937, in Festus, he was the son of the late Bessie Agnes (Siebert) and Herbert S. Eisenbeis.

He is survived by his wife: Carol (McClanahan) Eisenbeis; three sons: Gregory Eisenbeis of Crystal City, Paul (Vickie) Eisenbeis of Festus and Stephen (Amber) Eisenbeis of Crystal City; two daughters: Teresa Eisenbeis of Festus and Laura (Jeff) Oder of Bloomsdale; a brother: Richard (Donnie) Eisenbeis of Bloomsdale; two sisters: Peggy Ann (the late John) LaMure of Madisonville, Ky., and Beverly (Arvin) Beckmann of St. Louis County; 12 grandchildren: Rachel (Marcus) Dyl, Joseph Eisenbeis, Renee (Tim) Killian, Matthew Eisenbeis, Christopher Eisenbeis, Katherine Eisenbeis, Anna Eisenbeis, Thomas Oder, Adam Oder, Blake Eisenbeis, Nolan Eisenbeis and Trent Eisenbeis; and three great-grandchildren: Anthony Simon, Reese Killian and Andrew Wilson.

Memorial Mass was held Jan. 4 at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, officiated by Father Mathew Cheruparambil. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund or the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
