James Henry Engemann, 87, of High Ridge died Aug. 31, 2017. Mr. Engemann was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in High Ridge, Machinist’s Union Local 837 and Elks Lodge 2455 in High Ridge. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Born June 28, 1930, in Marthasville, he was the son of the late Adelade (Eichholtz) and August Engemann.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Deloris (Brandel) Engemann of High Ridge; five children: Patricia (David) Tasch of St. Louis, Michael (Brenda) Engemann of Chappells, S.C., Daniel (Annette) Engemann of High Ridge, Donald (Kathy) Engemann of Dittmer and Lisa (Stephen) Hoffman of House Springs; two siblings: Virginia Szczesny of Natrona Heights, Pa., and Andrew (Ruth) Engemann of Washington, Mo.; a sister-in-law: Gladys Engemann of Washington, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Phillip Engemann; and a brother-in-law: Theodore Szczesny.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3009 High Ridge Blvd., in High Ridge. Burial is in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3009 High Ridge Blvd., High Ridge, 63049; or to the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, 63108. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
