James E. Wallen, 65, of De Soto died May 17, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Wallen was an accountant. He also was a member of First Baptist Church in De Soto and served as an assistant Scout master. Born Sept. 6, 1953, in Bonne Terre, he was the son of Ruth G. (Coffman) Wallen of De Soto and the late Floyd L. Wallen.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Steve Wallen.
Funeral services were May 20 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by Gene Smith. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
