James Clinton Staggs, 79, of Festus died Jan. 27, 2016, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mr. Staggs was a warehouseman for Southern Equipment and a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 688. He was born Nov. 28, 1936, in St. Louis, the son of the late Martha Fay (Parker) and Clinton Grover Staggs.

He is survived by four daughters: Deneen McKinney of Crystal City, Deena Staggs of Crystal City, Deann Martin of St. Charles and Natalie Behrens of High Ridge; a son: John (Beth) Walker of Ballwin; a sister: Lois (the late Jack) Abernathy of St. Peters; 11 grandchildren: Christy (Craig) See, Gary Keiser, Johnny Schaeffer, Sage and Angus Janssen, Alicia (Brian) Ratliff, Megan, Branden and Travis Coyle, Adam Davis and Josh Lee; seven great-grandchildren: Jasmine Ratliff, Demetri Beasley, Harmony Coyle, Collin and Desirea Davis and Gavin and Gabrielle Lee; a niece: Cynthia (Richard) Showman of Gerald; and two nephews: Michael and Douglas Abernathy of St. Peters.

He was preceded in death by two sons: Brad Walker and Larry Walker.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at Peace Chapel of Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, 10101 W. Main St., in Belleville, officiated by Rev. Randy Casey. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
