Lalumondier, Jackie

Jacqueline Jean “Jackie” Lalumondier, 89, of Crystal City died Jan. 18, 2019, at Festus Manor Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Lalumondier was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Legion of Mary. She was an accomplished seamstress and worked for 24 years as a cashier for Crystal City Elementary School and for numerous other school functions. Born April 4, 1929, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Ruby Fae (Telford) and Edward Isadore Chappue. She was preceded in death by her husband: John Joseph “Jack” Lalumondier.

She is survived by a son: Michael (Angel) Lalumondier of Ocoee, Fla.; three daughters: Deborah (Mike) Pashia of Festus, Janice (John) Robinson of Festus and Angie (John) Mather of St. Louis; seven grandchildren: Aaron (Cassie) Pashia, Monica (Johnathon) Stanberry, Sarah (Sean) Wibbenmeyer, Madeleine Mather, Ashley Mather, Corey (Tiffany Smith) Robinson and Michael (fiancée Staice Luther) Robinson; and 10 great-grandchildren: Jade (Nicholas) Purvis, Olivia Dobyns, Corey Allen Robinson, Thurston Robinson, Jon Robinson, Avry Robinson, Mariah Summers, Devon Smith, Skylar Erhardt and Savannah Hunter.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Edward Joseph “Rooster” Chappue; and a sister: Patty (the late John) Chappue Freeze.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Sacred Heart Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
