Jack F. Atkins Sr., 82, of De Soto died Feb. 23, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Atkins was retired from the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority. He also was a U.S. Army veteran. Born Dec. 28, 1938, in Fresno, Calif., he was the son of the late Thomas and Jane Viola (Morris) Atkins.
He is survived by his wife: Mary (Forrest) Atkins of De Soto; four children: Jack F. (Michelle) Atkins Jr. of Bloomington, Calif., DeAnna (David) Toller of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Sarah (Cory Bicklein) Ingram of De Soto and Kelly Bierbaum of Warrenton; two siblings: Dan (Leni) Atkins and Debbie Grossline; eight grandchildren: Bradley Atkins, Branden Atkins, Ashley Atkins, Elizabeth (Tyler) Cook, Tabitha Froschauer, Cody (Casey) Froschauer, Kaleb Ingram and Owen Ingram; and 13 great-grandchildren.
No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
