Ira Robert ‘Bob’ Dove, 76, Festus

Ira Robert “Bob” Dove, 76, of Festus died May 3, 2022, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis

County. Mr. Dove served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from General Motors. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City, where he served in the Bus Ministry for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Born April 9, 1946, in Seattle, Wash., he was the son of the late Jaunita (Cummings) and Ira B. Dove.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Rosalee Mary (Corn) Dove.

He is survived by his daughter: Celeste (Jason) Sauer of O’Fallon; two sons: David Dove of Pevely and Ira “Benjie” Dove of Arnold; three stepchildren: Daryl Wayne (Tammy) Allen of Etowah, Ark., Donald (Tina) Jones of Park Hills and Brian (Kathy) Jones of Pevely; two sisters: Sharon Dove and Debbie Lozano, both of Springfield; two brothers: Gary (the late Terri) Dove of Louisburg and Dan (Waynette) Dove of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by a sister: Myra McClellan; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Thomas Worsham. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the to the Bus Ministry of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
