Ira J. "Hank" Sours III, 87, of Arnold died April 3, 2018. Mr. Sours was a mechanic operator, a participant in the Senior Olympics, a member of the Eagles Club, a U.S. Army Veteran, PFC who served in the Korean War. Born Nov. 7, 1930, in Roodhouse, Ill., he was the son of the late Ira Verlin Sours II and Jessie Marie (Bunch) Sours. He was preceded in death by his wife: Shirley Sours.
He is survived by one daughter: Pamela (Paul) Dawson; seven siblings: Bessie Carlton, Leona Deros, Thelma Chaplin, Dorothy (the late David) Farrar, Betty (Joe) Smith, Clarence (Marsha) Sours and Billy (Debbie) Sours; three grandchildren: Douglas (Brittani) Strodtman, Matthew (Julia) Strodtman and Darin Dawson; three great-grandchildren: David Strodtman, Nick Grotefendt and Payton Leibold; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, at Fey Funeral Home, 4100 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis. Funeral services will be at noon Monday, April 9, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lake St. Charles Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Veterans' Home Committee. Arrangements are under the direction of Fey Funeral Home.
