Ida Frances Thomas, 86, of Herculaneum died Nov. 10, 2022, in Festus. Mrs. Thomas worked as a legal secretary for many years in the Jefferson County Courthouse in Hillsboro. She loved gardening, being outdoors and spending time with her family. She was born Aug. 31, 1936, in Lafe, Ark., the daughter of the late Ollie Mae (Burns) and Logan Dodd. She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Thomas.
She is survived by a son: Michael S. Thomas of Herculaneum; two brothers: Donnie Dodd and Junior Dodd of Lafe, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Donna (Thomas) Pool.
A committal service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov.30, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
