Howard T. Henry, 93, of Roselle died Sept. 17, 2022, at his home. Mr. Henry was a 1946 Fredericktown High School graduate, and he worked as a millwright mechanic for 39 years at American Can Co. before retiring. He was a member of Bethel United Baptist Church in Fredericktown and helped make and deliver the peanut brittle for his church for many years. He also was a member of the Ozark Melody Boys Quartet and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He also liked hunting, riding motorbikes, scuba diving, traveling, camping on the Black River with his family and having hayrides across the creek. Born Oct. 12, 1928, in Fredericktown, he was the son of the late Inice Iona (Sanders) and Archie Phillip Henry.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Ella Mae Arnold, who he married on June 19, 1949, and he is survived by his wife: Betty “Sue” (Harmon) Green, who he married on March 20, 1999.
He also is survived by four children: Linda Joyce (Roger) Ramsey of Imperial, Mary Susan “Sue” (Kenny) Wooten of Roselle, Howard “Michael” (Deanna) Henry of Barnhart and Patricia Ann “Patti” (Bruce) Klaverkamp of Barnhart; four stepchildren: Linda (Andy) Roberts of Fredericktown, Gregory (Mary) Green of LaFayette, Ind., Tom (Margie) Green of St. Louis and Tim (Debbie) Green of Oceanside, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Shirley Henry of Roselle; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by three siblings: Mary Louise Henry, James Phillip Henry and Reginald Denton Henry; four sisters-in-law: Edith Henry, Dorothy Arnold, Betty Arnold and Dorothy Jackson; and three brothers-in-law: George Arnold, Roy Arnold and Bill Jackson.
Funeral services were held Sept. 20 at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel, with the reverends Charles Buford and Lindell Sikes officiating. Burial was in Sebastian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sebastian Cemetery Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob.
