Hilda J. Sebastian, 85, of De Soto died May 19, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Sebastian was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in De Soto, where she worked with the Women’s Ministry. Born Oct. 25, 1933, in Old Mines, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude (Miller) and George Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her husband: the Rev. Joel Sebastian.
She is survived by five siblings: Ronald W. (Pamela) Sebastian of Ormond Beach, Fla., Irene L. (the late Larry) Mangum of Montgomery, Ala., Vicki Sebastian of De Soto, Cheryl (Garry) Minx of Richwoods and Rhonda J. (Jamie) Higgins of De Soto; two siblings: Charlene Huskey of Bonne Terre and Christine Lucas of St. Charles; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Sylvia Huskey, Margaret Wilburn, Vivian Dickinson, Ralph Lucas, Louis “Pete” Lucas, Ernest Lucas and Frank Lucas.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, and resume from 10 a.m. until the funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at First Assembly of God Church, 12635 State Hwy. 21, in De Soto, officiated by Bro. Ron Duncan. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
