Henry William Francis Sr., 92, Victoria

Henry William Francis Sr., 92, of Victoria died Oct. 22, 2017, at Baisch Nursing Center in De Soto. Mr. Francis was retired from a career as a crane operator for Pittsburgh Plate Glass. He had a passion for training and showing horses and won many horse show awards. Born Nov. 23, 1924, in Fredericktown, he was the son of the late Millie (Arnett) and William “Bill” Francis.

He is survived by his wife: Catherine Jean (Crump) Politte Francis of Victoria; three children: Henry William “Bill” (Shirley) Francis Jr. of Nashua, N.H., Robert W. “Bob” (Patricia) Francis of Herculaneum and Janet (Eldon) Williams of Clever; six grandchildren: Katie (Eric) Cunningham, William Francis, Lauren Francis, Theresa (Jamie) Kenny, Lori Francis and Michelle Williams; five great-grandchildren: Tristan, Cole, Emelia, Madelynn and Allison; two step-great-grandsons: Blake and Ryan; a sister: Ruby Matthews of Fredericktown; a brother: Lloyd Francis of Fredericktown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 10 siblings.

Visitation is at noon and a funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Leroy Brown. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
