Schweppe, Lynn

Henry “Lynn” Schweppe, 73, of Festus died Feb. 15, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Schweppe was a retired control room and laboratory operator with River Cement Corp. in Festus. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, during which he received two Bronze Stars. He was a member of Good News Community Church of Festus and VFW Post 3777. Born March, 15, 1946, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Henry August “Hank” and Emoline (Resinger) Schweppe.

He is survived by his wife: Cheryl “Kay” (Graff) Schweppe; two sons: Chris Schweppe of Festus and Nathan Schweppe of Festus; a daughter: Mendy (Charles “Dave”) Chrisco of Festus; a brother: Noel (Wanda) Schweppe of Troy; and four grandchildren: Sky, Evan, Olivia and Silas.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Jack King. Burial with full military honors will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Good News Community Church, 2793 Hwy. 61, south of Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
