Helen W. Burrow, 83, of De Soto died July 25, 2015, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Burrow was an office worker who enjoyed cooking and traveling. Born Feb. 28, 1932, in Jonesboro, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Lester and Edith (Holder) Lyerla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy G. Burrow.
She is survived by a son: David Burrow of De Soto; a daughter: Beverly (Frank) Mattingly of Herculaneum; two brothers: Lawrence (Dorothy) Lyerla of Dittmer and Clifford Lyerla of Red Bud, Ill.; two sisters: Madeline (the late Warren) Enloe of Salem and Lucille Wilkins of Lebanon; two granddaughters: Amy Mattingly and Danielle (Joe) Robinson; four grandsons: Andy (Sara) Mattingly, David (Amanda) Burrow, Ronnie (Jennifer) Sparks and Lonnie (Trish) Sparks; and five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Carter, Rille, Sam and Avery.
A funeral service was held July 28 at Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Jeremy Muniz. Burial was in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the De Soto Food Pantry. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
