Helen M. Politte, 91, of De Soto died May 31, 2019, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Mrs. Politte was a homemaker and a former teacher at Valle Catholic School in Ste. Genevieve. She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella Circle 659 and the Columbia Anns. Born April 14, 1928, in Ste. Genevieve, she was the daughter of the late Mary Ann (Bonnarens) and Lawrence J. Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her husband: Marion Politte.
She is survived by three children: Gary Politte of De Soto, Glen (Debra) Politte of Hillsboro and Greg (Deanna) Politte of Chesterfield; eight grandchildren: Craig, Josh (Rachel), Dustin, Ashley, Chase, Carson, Cole and Peyton; two sisters: Marcella (Tom) Vaughn of Festus and Anna Marie (the late Carroll) Drury of Bloomsdale; and a brother: Larry (Kathleen) Schmidt of Ste. Genevieve.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Edna (Don) Stolzer and Christine (Chalmer) Meyer.
Funeral Mass was held June 4 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
