Harold L. “Frosty” Frost, 96, of De Soto died Jan. 15, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Frost was retired from the De Soto Police Department and had a lifelong love for performing music and collecting violins. He was born May 23, 1926, in Koshkonong, the son of the late Everet F. and Jesse L. (Liles) Frost.
He is survived by his wife: Mary (Baker) Frost of De Soto; six children: Larry (Lois) Frost, Sharon (Rick) Hicks, Debra Mercer, Randall (Becky) Frost, Richard (Robin) Miles and Robert (Sharon) Miles; six stepchildren: Sharon (Richard) Snyder, Karen (Jim) Wilson, Terri (Paul) Nosser, Rebecca (Butch) Manning, Kimberly Berry and Gregory (Renee) Berry; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Lorraine (Davis) Frost; a son: Ronald (Sandra survives) Frost Sr.; a daughter: Patty Miles; three grandsons: Ronald Frost Jr., Shaun Frost and Joshua Frost; and his parents-in-law: Edna (Hyde) and the Rev. Edward Baker.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Andy Weaver. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
