Harold A. Wideman, 89, of Potosi, formerly of Richwoods, died July 10, 2016, at Potosi Manor in Potosi. Mr. Wideman was a maintenance worker for Wagner Electric Co. who also worked at Engineered Air in St. Louis. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Potosi Masonic Lodge No. 131, a sexton for the Horine Cemetery and a volunteer with the Lions Club. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Richwoods and Summer Presbyterian Church. Born March 22, 1927, in Richwoods, he was the son of the late Earl and Nora (Hanson) Wideman.
He is survived by his wife: Mary (Rash) Wideman; a son: Greg (Stella) Wideman of Richwoods; a son-in-law: Jack (Brenda) King of Richwoods; six grandchildren: Jeff (Jennifer) Wideman, Lisa Headrick, Angie Young, Tina (Lonnie) Goff, Christy Gilmore and John Jones; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters: Norma Jones and Phillis King; a brother: Clyde Wideman; and two sisters: Lorene Wideman and Jean Brunk.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., De Soto. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, at the funeral home, officiated by Wayne Leftridge. Burial will be at Horine Cemetery in Richwoods. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
