Gwen L. Reeser, 75, of Cedar Hill died May 17, 2016, at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton. Mrs. Reeser was a teacher who worked for Joyce Myers Ministry after her retirement. She enjoyed puppetry, ministering to children, singing and writing. Born June 20, 1940, in Evansville, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Russell Wood and Garnet Evelyn (Moll) Doom.
She is survived by her husband: Deane Reeser of Cedar Hill; two children: Robert Edward Dove of St. Louis and Michael Winter (Nicole) Dove of Bloomington, Minn.; three stepchildren: Karen (Larry) Jones of Cornell, Ill., Tim (Amy) Reeser of Danvers, Ill., and Kevin Reeser of Secor, Ill.; nine grandchildren: Colby Dove, Claire Dove, Bruce Jones, Anna (Derek) Zander, Caitlyn (Carlos) Lopez, Daniel (Mallory) Jones, Wyatt Reeser, Levi Reeser and A.J. Reeser; a great-grandchild: Blake; and her twin sister: Jackie (David) Johnson of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by a child: Hope Chassaing; and a brother: Russell Wood Doom Jr.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at Faith Community Church, 4824 Scottsdale Road, in House Springs. Burial will be at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Donations may be made to Faith Community Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
