Gladys M. Shoults, 89, of De Soto died Dec. 23, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Shoults was a retired teller for the State Bank of De Soto. Born July 28, 1933, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Mary Frances (Wilkinson) and William Thomas Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Edward Shoults.
She is survived by two children: Ruth (Richard) Tyarks of De Soto and William “Bill” (Kimberley) Shoults of De Soto; five grandchildren: Susan (Rick) Draper, Holly (Bryant) Roberts, Tina Swinford, Christine Mueller and Daniel Brinkman; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Hazel Ruth (Herman) Schroeder; and a brother: Joseph W. (Dorothy) Pierce.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home, officiated by David Warden. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
