Gerald Leon Gibson, 83 of De Soto died Dec. 20, 2019, at Baisch Nursing Center in De Soto. Mr. Gibson was a member of the De Soto Church of Christ. He enjoyed golf, camping and traveling and spent 15 winters in Texas. Born Dec. 28, 1935, in Paragould, Ark., he was the son of the late Sherman and Opal (Mangrum) Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Elinore (Lashley) Gibson.
He is survived by a daughter: Barbara (Ronnie) Underwood of De Soto; a stepson: Wayne (Sandy) Moore of De Soto; two brothers: Cloyce (Pat) Gibson of Paragould, Ark., and Wyman (Janelle) Miller of Springfield; five grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Thomas Miller.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
