George Harold Mund, 98, Bourbon

George Harold Mund, 98, of Bourbon died Oct. 13, 2022, in Sullivan. Mr. Mund served during World War II. He enjoyed woodcarving and silverwork. He and his late wife traveled out west during the winter for 45 years. Born Oct. 15, 1923, in Farmington, he was the son of the late Lillian (Eaves) and George M. Mund.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Teresa (Hembrock) Mund.

He is survived by two daughters: Kathy (James) Brinker and Jane Yount; four grandchildren: Timothy (Lisa) Brinker, Benjamin (An) Yount, Jennifer (Alex Flores Barajas) Yount and Amy (Andrew) Edgar; five great-grandchildren: Aiden, Adelyn and Anabelle Edgar and Tommy and Madeline Yount with one on the way; and numerous family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by two siblings: Etta Mae (Jim) Campbell and Ronald (Carol) Mund.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
