Bange, George

George August Bange, 84, of French Village died Aug. 10, 2022, in Farmington. Mr. Bange  George raised his family in Festus and later moved to French Village to enjoy his retirement years in the Goose Creek community. He had worked as a house painter and enjoyed camping, grilling pork steaks, drinking cold beer, playing cards, shooting pool and watching westerns. He was born Jan. 1, 1938, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Frank and Alma Bange.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Mary "Mickey" Bange; three sons: Kevin (Carol Gerlach) Bange of De Soto, Russ (Patti Daugherty) Bange of Park Hills and Chris (Laura Leonard) Bange of Hillsboro; two daughters: Pamela (Kirk) Hansen of Billings, Mont., and Becky (Dave) de Tenley of Cary, N.C.; three sisters: Barbara Nelson of Farmington, Joyce (Keith) Roth of Columbia and Marilyn (Jerry Cap) Bange of Albuquerque, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or by supporting the state parks Mr. Bange loved to visit at mostateparks.com or by mail at Missouri State Park Donations, Department of Natural Resources, PO Box 176, Jefferson City 65102. Arrangements were under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
