George A. Akers Sr., 70, of De Soto died Dec. 17, 2013, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Akers is survived by his wife of 48 years, Juanita (Ryon) Akers of De Soto.
Funeral services were held Dec. 20 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Jeremy Muniz. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
