General James ‘Jim’ Miller, 89, Imperial

General James “Jim” Miller, 89, of Imperial died May 11, 2021, in Imperial. Mr. Miller was a retired railroad claim superintendent for Union Pacific. He also was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arnold. Born March 30, 1932, in Rector, Ark., he was the son of the late Eardia (Hopper) and Lawrence Miller.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years: Peggy Maurine (Stone) Miller.

He is survived by six children: Kevin (Kathy) Miller of High Ridge, Jeff (Mary) Miller of Dickinson, Texas, Jerry (Lynn) Miller of Branson, John Miller of St. Louis, Joe (Pat) Miller of Imperial and Janie (Joe) McBride of Lebanon; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two more great-grandchildren on the way; and two brothers-in-law: Larry (Adrienne) Stone of St. Louis and Joe (Mary Ann) Stone of St. Louis.

He also was preceded in death by two siblings: Delbert and Harold Miller.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Friday (May 14) at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary in House Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
