Gary W. Courtois, 68, of De Soto died Oct. 19, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Courtois served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was retired from Chrysler and was a member of UAW Local 110 as well as St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto. Born Nov. 30, 1952, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Mary “Lucille” (Wickerham) and Carl Courtois.
He is survived by his wife: Patsy Lynn (Moss) Courtois of De Soto; two children: Joyce (Karl Kramer) Radford of De Soto and Gary Michael (Julie) Courtois of Fenton; four siblings: Carl (Geneva) Courtois of Festus, Carol (Richard) Cautrell of De Soto, Janet (the late Eldon) Hayes of Festus and Terry (Judy) Courtois of Hillsboro; and five grandchildren: Hayden, Emma and Wyatt Radford and Sophia and Isabelle Courtois.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Walter and Dale Courtois.
A funeral service was held Oct. 22 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
