Gary Earl Michael, 72, of Hematite died Oct. 6, 2019, at his home. Mr. Michael was retired from the paint department at Chrysler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Born April 5, 1947, in Piedmont, he was the son of the late Earl and Velma “Betty” (Pariset) Michael.
He is survived by seven siblings: David (Bonnie) Michael of Dittmer, Mark Michael of Festus, Paul Michael of De Soto, Carol Sue (Morris) Vanattia of Murphysboro, Tenn., Connie (Bobby) Summons of Murphysboro, Tenn., Denise Michael of De Soto and Becky (Rich) Charboneau of De Soto.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Timothy Scott Michael, Patty Nicholson, Donna McClanahan and Shirley Chilton.
Visitation is scheduled from 9-10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, followed by a graveside service with full military honors in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
