Fred Charles Heck, 67, of Dittmer died Oct. 20, 2021, at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Mr. Heck was a butcher with Schnucks and retired in 1997 after 26 years as a subsistence specialist for the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in High Ridge and a 32nd-degree Master Mason and Moolah Shriner. He was born Feb. 2, 1954, in Chicago, the son of the late Myrna (Fatzinger) and Russell Heck.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Orvilla R. (Price) Heck of Arnold; two children: Kevin C. (Mindy) Heck of St Charles and Molly R. (Steven) Himmelmann of Arnold; a sister: Lorraine Heck of Melrose Park, Ill.; and three grandchildren: Kaylen and Addison Heck of St. Charles and Lucas Himmelmann of Arnold. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Barrett C. Heck.
Visitation is from 8 a.m. until a celebration of life at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
