Fred Carl Haake Jr., 85, of De Soto died Feb. 28, 2015, at his home. Mr. Haake was the owner/operator of Haake Manufacturing. He was a graduate of Washington University and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Born May 20, 1929, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Fred Carl and Elfriede Johanna Haake.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Lorraine “Happy” Haake, whom he married Aug. 25, 1951, in St. Louis; three children: Linda (Holly Schneider) Haake of Falls Church, Va., Kon (Vicki Miller) Haake of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Bev (Paul) Haake Roberts of Eureka; four grandchildren: Dan Stockwell of Portland, Ore.; Chelsea (Patrick Barney) Stockwell of Mizzoula, Mont.; Jasmine (Chris) Jones of Barnhart and John Roberts of St. Louis; and two great-grandchildren: Gariel and Ellen. He was preceded in death by a son: Carl Haake.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the funeral home, officiated by Albert Haller. Burial is in the De Soto City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
