Franklin Donnell “Donnie” Cage Jr, 65, of Olympian Village died Oct. 24, 2021, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Cage was a welder for GoodEarth Tools and a member of First Methodist Church of Festus. Born Nov. 1, 1955, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Maggie M (McCarty) and Franklin Donnell Cage Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Kathy (Dobbs) Cage of De Soto, whom he married on Feb. 12, 1977, in Hillsboro; two children: Steven (Dana) Cage of Festus and Candice (Cory) Fix of Hillsboro; two siblings: Kelly (Dale) Beck of Festus and Toni (Scott) Edington of Pevely; and four grandchildren: Camberlynn, Caylie, Chayse, Adalynn.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at First United Methodist Church of Festus, 113 Grand Ave., officiated by the Rev. Tish Green. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
