Frances Verlaine Altmix, 71, of Arnold died Nov. 19, 2018, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mrs. Altmix was a secretary. She grew up in De Soto and was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a member of St. David Catholic Church of Arnold. She was a graduate of St. Rose School and St. Pius High School. She enjoyed shopping, traveling with family and friends and being very involved in her church. Born Oct. 17, 1947, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Bequette) Warden. She was preceded in death by her husband: Roger Altmix.
She is survived by one son: John (Diane) Altmix of Cincinnati, Ohio; one daughter: Julie (Donnie) Rankin of Arkadelphia, Ark.; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers: John Warden, Ronald Warden, James Warden and Clyde Warden; and four sisters: Patricia McCurdy, Ruth Ann Coan, Teresa Osia and Lucille Eads.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 at Mahn De Soto Chapel, 900 N. Main and Mahn Ave., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 523 Fourth St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
