Frances Caroline Blum, 82, of De Soto died Feb. 7, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Blum was the owner of the Dew Drop Inn Restaurant, formerly in De Soto. Born April 2, 1934, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late John and Carolina (Lombardo) Detter.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: William Blum of De Soto; two sons: Terry Blum of Cedar Hill and William Blum Jr. of De Soto; two daughters: Pamela (Raymond) Hicks of Cadet and Linda (Joe) Skiles of Cadet; two brothers: Joe (Frances) Detter of De Soto and Jerry (Virginia) Detter of De Soto; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Sherri Blum; one brother: John Detter; and two sisters: Dorothy Detter and Darlene Pashia.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Mahn Funeral Home De Soto Chapel, 900 N. Main Street, De Soto. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Feb. 11, 2017, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Susan Hicks. Burial will be in Hillsboro City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd. St. Louis, 63132. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
