Everett Samuel “Bud” Boyer, 83, of Herculaneum died Feb. 11, 2017, at Festus Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Boyer retired as a dockworker after working for 40 years for Consolidated Freightways, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, a member of the Herculaneum United Methodist Church, attended the Gene Autry United Methodist Church in Oklahoma, supported the Buren Chapel A.M.E. Church in Herculaneum and helped rebuild the Indian Creek Baptist Church in Texas. He also was a board member of the Gene Autry Museum in Oklahoma and attended cowboy festivals around the country with his wife. Born April 15, 1933, in Herculaneum, he was the son of the late Mary Blanche (Boyer) and James Silas Boyer.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Allen (Green) Boyer.

He is survived by a daughter: Susan (Chris) Wilson of Arnold; a granddaughter: Shannon Wilson; and a nephew: Ray E. Boyer Jr. of Herculaneum; and other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Ray E. (Vivian) Boyer Sr., Milford (Betty) Boyer and Lester J. (Myrtle) Boyer.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., Festus. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Martinous Walls. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Buren Chapel A.M.E. Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
