Evelyn Lisenby, 89, of Festus died Jan. 13, 2019, at Crystal Oaks Care Center. Mrs. Lisenby had worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Festus from 1968 until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City and enjoyed cooking, sewing and her dog, Dolly. Born Sept. 9, 1929, in Carlyle, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Ora (Thompson) and Richard Miller Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lewis Lisenby.
She is survived by a son: David “Randy” Lisenby of Festus; a daughter: Susan (Gary) Dickens of De Soto; a grandson: Timothy “Lucas” (Amy) White o0f St. Louis; and a great-granddaughter, Mae.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: John Jenkins and Claude Jenkins.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for noon Thursday, Jan. 17, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Dr., in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Jim Owens. Burial is in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
