Evelyn Kessler, 89, of Imperial, formerly of Arnold, died June 10, 2021, at Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County. Mrs. Kessler was a bus driver for the Fox C-6 School District. She was a remember of the Widows Club and the SHF Senior Club. Born Oct. 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Nora (Lappe) and William H. Brewer Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James L. Kessler.
She is survived by two sons: Michael Kessler of Imperial and Steven Kessler of Bonne Terre; three daughters: Linda Watkins of Arnold, Kathleen (Ronald) Ziy of Imperial and Sheryl (David) Branch of Arnold; 10 grandchildren: Chris (Jessica) Kessler, Stacy Johnson, Anthony (Dusty) Watkins, Kelli (Jason) Boyer, Shane (Allison) Jordan, Ami (Ryan) Gutknecht, Kevin Ziy, Jessica (Dan) Astroth, Alyssa (Alex) Bopp and Zachary Burg; 17 great-grandchildren: Stephani (Ryan) Roth, Hannah and Gracie Kessler, Kyle and Katelyn Johnson, Richard Watkins, Knowell and Julian Boyer, Zander, Daxon, Jessie and Penelope Jordan, Knox and Everly Gutknecht, Chloe and Astroth and Skylar Burg; a great-great-granddaughter: Elaina Roth; a brother: Jim (Helen) Brewer; a brother-in-law: Charles Becker; and a sister: Marilyn (George) Deutschmann.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty (Jack) Reiger and Jacqueline Becker; and a brother: William Brewer Jr.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at St. David Catholic Church, 2334 Tenbrook Road, in Arnold. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
