Evelyn I. (Myer) Wright, 92, of Hillsboro died Nov. 24, 2018, in Festus. Mrs. Wright was a longtime member of the Festus Church of God. She loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. She was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Neely’s Landing, the daughter of the late Myrtle (Clinginsmith) and Charles Myer. She was preceded in death by her husband: David Orville Wright.
She is survived by a son: Leonard N. Wright of Hillsboro; a grandson: Donald L. (Pam) Wright Jr. of Billingham, Mass.; a granddaughter: Cindy (Frank) Thibodeau of Woonsocket, R.I.; and four great-grandchildren: Hanah, Christopher, Joshua and Daniel.
She was preceded in death by a son: Donald Leo Wright Sr.; a daughter-in-law: Evelyn L. (Thompson) Wright; and four siblings: Roy Eugene Myer, Evelyn Ilene Myer, Eulia May Myer and Charles Richard Myer.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary, 6065 Duda Road, House Springs, 63051. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
