Eric Stotler, 56, of De Soto died Dec. 27, 2020, at his home. Mr. Stotler was a retired deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. He was born Sept. 25, 1964, in Festus, the son of the late Lettye Arlene (Jenkerson) Brock and Donald Gene Stotler.
He is survived by his wife: Roxanne (Hoops) Stotler of Festus; a daughter: Erica (Perry) Dufour of Arnold; a son: Andrew Stotler of De Soto; two brothers: Gary L. (Susan) Stotler of Cabot, Ark., and Brian C. (Sharon) Stotler of De Soto; five grandchildren: Kaylee Dufour, Jayden Dufour, Emma Dollar, Payton Dufour and Parker Dufour; and his stepmother: Mary (Bill) Lucas of Festus. He was preceded in death by his stepfather: Charles Brock.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Jefferson County Civic Center in Hillsboro, officiated by Judge Joe Rathert. Memorials may be made to the Backstoppers or to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
