Emma Lay Sutherlin, 81, of Stanford, Ky., formerly of Arnold, died Jan. 29, 2023, in Harrodsburg, Ky. Mrs. Sutherlin was a school custodian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Arnold. Born May 16, 1941, in Danville, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Adell (Murphy) and Raymond Lay. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest Sutherlin.
She is survived by six siblings: Marshall Leigh, Preston (Earlene) Lay, Glendon (Katie) Lay, Linda Helm, Lecia (Stephen) True and Sheila (Johnny) Hogue.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Terry Lay, Gary Lay and John Lay; and a sister: Betty Warner.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville St., Liberty, Ky., officiated by Brother Raymond Frazier and Brother Steve Warner. Burial is in the Caney Fork Cemetery in Liberty, Ky. Arrangements are under the direction of McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
